Background
Lea and I created this piece by blending natural wood with a precision-cut geometric form, integrating a sharp beam of red light to symbolize the balance between organic warmth and technological precision.
Process
We began by selecting and hand-finishing a solid block of wood, carefully cutting it into a precise geometric form to highlight its natural grain. Lea then designed and embedded the illuminated red line, integrating hidden wiring and light channels with meticulous precision. Together, we refined the angles, polished the surfaces, so the final piece would feel both grounded in nature and alive with modern energy.
The Self
The wood speaks to my connection to natural materials and ancestral artistry, while the red light embodies Lea's strength, vibrancy, and forward vision. Together, it’s a symbol of how our cultures and creative voices intertwine to form something neither of us could have made alone.
