Background
My process is intuitive. I let the process guide me, revealing the figure gradually, almost like uncovering a memory. Her posture is grounded yet graceful, a quiet strength and beauty in stillness. I paid special attention to her hair, using fine tools to create texture and volume that speaks to the me I am inside
Process
I began by constructing the figure from carefully joined wooden segments, carving the surfaces into sharp, geometric planes to give the form both structure and a sense of quiet power. Once the body was shaped and sanded smooth, I sculpted the trousers directly onto the figure, then hand-stained them using natural elements to create contrast against the natural wood.
The Self
This piece represents my journey from feeling powerless through life’s challenges to finally recognizing my own strength and standing proud in it. The red in the pants symbolizes the trials and sacrifices that shaped me—moments of struggle transformed into a source of courage and vitality.
